What is a "Runner"?

An "Alarm Runner" is a licensed security guard who will attend to an alarm at your premise on your behalf. The alarm runner can either be placed at the top of your "call-out" list, or last if the monitoring station cannot contact someone from the list.

The security guard will attend the alarm either as a primary responder (no police) or to meet the police so that they can gain access to the premise to thoroughly check for intrusion or any breach of security. Should there be an actual attack and the premise is insecure, the runner (guard) will maintain security until repairs can be made or an authorized contact person can attend.

You will be required to supply several copies of keys to the premise, including keys for internal doors that may be kept locked at night to restrict movement or access within the protected premise. You may also be required to supply several access cards if your premises has an access control system. You will also be required to program, or have Hunt Security Systems program a unique access code for the guards into your security system. We also suggest that you set up an appointment with the supervisor to review your building and security system.  This information is then relayed to all of the security guards that may attend.
